I have redone the handrails around the sentry gun, and modelled the bay it is sit in.
Here is a pic of the gun sitting in the bay.
I have also done a little animation. this is a test of the gun working.
Please note the part under the raidar, is meant to move it and the guns, but I only notice that it did not after I had finished rendering out the animation. As it was only a test I did not see the need to redo it with this is sorted.
Blender Guru last week put up a tutorial for making planet Earth.
Now I know how to do the textuers for making a plaent this is something thats not to difffecult to do.
However Anderw uses Martiral Nodes, this is something I know nothing about.
Anyway here are the results.
The Second picture was to see how close I could get. This seems to be the closest I could get with the camera.
Given how easy it was to do this Tut, I though it would be cool, to do a picture of Mars that has started to be tarraformed, I have also added a few large cities.
Here is also a little animation of Mars.
I wanted to see Paul on the big screen but alas, Personal things got in the way.
So I had to wait the 16 weeks for it to be realised on Bluray.
While waiting the 16 weeks I had seen the trailers a number of times and each time my expectation where high (Trailer can be seen at the bottom of the post.). But it was high form the start as soon as I found out that Simon Pegg and Nick Frost where the writers and stars of the film. After all they where behind two great films, Shane of the Dead and Hot Fuzz.
Pegg and Frost are perfectly cast (well they did write the film.) as two nerdy best friends, Graeme and Clive, who make a once in a lifetime trip to San Diego Comic-Con. But their love of Science Fiction extends to real-life tales of Close Encounters.
So after Comic-Con come to a close the boys hire an RV and head out to visit famous extraterrestrial locations including the worst kept secret of secrets bases Area 51.
It not far from Area 51, the boys meet the foul mouth little grey alien named Paul. (Played by Seth Rogan.) Who has been held captive at Area 51 since 1947, not to surprisingly Paul really wants to go home. Graeme and Clive agree to help get Paul to the location of his pick up, while at the same time protect him from two new recruits to the Men in Black. (Played by Bill Hader and Joe Lo Truglio.)
Paul is a great film for any sci-fi fan with lots of cult movie references from Back to the Future to Aliens. Though you don’t have to be a sci-fi fan to get most of the references. The film has a strong story that carries the film along, with lovable characters. There are some great little ideas in the film. Turns out most of the major works of Sci-fi after the 1950 where inspired by Paul. Paul talk to Steven Spielberg from a warehouse that looks just like the one from Radars of The Lost Ark.
The film has some laugh out load moments but I feel that there could have been a few more. All in all it’s a great film with some great supporting cast and Cameos by Jane Lynch & Sigourney Weaver.
I give this film 4 out of 5.
Paul: [to two rednecks] Hey fucknuts! Probing time.
A few years ago, I started a 3d project with a few people over on Scifi-mehses.com.
Unfortunatly the project fell though but we did get a few scripts down and some concept art done.
As it still something that I want to do, I though would carry on the project by myself.
This is going to be a big project and most likely will take a few good years to do. But it will be a good learning experiance.
I recently saw some old work by Brian Larsen on his NU BSG project. (another large project that did not get finished.)
This insprired me to do work work on this.
So for the first post of the Ark Project. I give you the Sentry Guns.
These guns can be fitted to ships or space station for defencive perposed.
I have manged to sort out the issue with the gallery page.
The link can now be found next to the “about” Link at the top of the page.
I have also added all but two of my complated art. I add them soon.
I just need to go in and resize the pictuers.
