  1. I have the movie on DVD and I’ve seen a few of the season 1 episodes on DVD. It’s a pretty cool show. Though, since I don’t have cable, I didn’t even know it was still on the air until you posted this. ๐Ÿ˜‰

    • yeah it still going Lucas has been on record that he would make 100 episodes, even if no one was watching the show.

I will not be surprised if he does the same thing with the live action show once it goes into production.

      • There’s a live action show on the way? Please tell me it’s not more Clone Wars stuff. He seems to be fixated on that era, for some reason.

      • No it not set during the Clone Wars, it is set between Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith and Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope.
The series will focus on the time between the prequel and original film trilogies, and will match their visual style and production values.
Other than that the series will not center on main characters from the film further characterization by George Lucas and Rick McCallum has varied or evolved since its original announcement in 2005.
After Lucas announced in 2011 that 50 scripts had been completed, McCallum said about the show that it is complex, dark and adult and that “it is like The Godfather; itโ€™s [about] the Empire slowly building up its power base around the galaxy, what happens in […] the major capital, and itโ€™s [about] a group of underground bosses who live there and control drugs, prostitution.โ€
A reference by McCallum to bounty hunters and the cancellation of a book by Karen Traviss lend credence to the notion that Boba Fett is one of the characters to be featured in the series.
Though personally, I would have like to see a show either a prequel to the movies or a sequel. It is now most unlikely to get the final trilogy (episode 7 โ€“ 9) on the big screen. Given that the actors are now a bit too old to play their parts.

      • Dude, they were never going to do episodes 7-9 on the big screen. George said that years ago.

The show sounds interesting. I like the idea of a “dark times” show and one not centered around the established main characters. I’d like to see some totally new characters, not even ones we’ve seen before.

Personally, if I were to do a SW TV show or movie, I’d go back to the Old Republic era. I like that era a lot. Plus, there have only been a few things set “back in the day,” so you can do what you want, as long as you avoid those few things.

      • Yeah I know 7-9 are not going to happen, if it was it would have been done 20 years ago.

I only know about the movies era and nothing about the expaned Universe. So anything dealing with that is fine with me.

  2. I stopped somewhere around the New Jedi Order. I think the last trilogy I read after the movies was when Luke was looking for Force-sensitive people to go to his new training academy. I liked them, but they wrote way too many books for me to keep track of.

Meanwhile, the “Old Republic” era is a lot easier to keep track of because there’s less of it. There are the Knights of the Old Republic games that are set about 4,000 years before the original film and tell some of the story, along with a comic series that I haven’t read. I’m not sure exactly when they take place. Then they skip ahead about 300 years (I think) for The Old Republic. Then there’s the Darth Bane Trilogy, which wraps up around 1,000 years before the original Star Wars film. I also have a book titled Darth Plagueis that I’ve not yet read, it’s also before the movies. (Palpatine talks about Darth Plagueis in the last film they made) I don’t think too much more has been done before the movies and the Republic was supposedly established over 20,000 years before the movies, so there’s a lot of ground to play with. That’s why I’d do something based in that era, you have free reign.
