Freaking out about Sci-fi & Moives

Trek Villain Not Khan?

It has been rumoured for sometime Khan will be the villain in the next J.J. Abram’s Trek movie.

While chatting with SFX (A UK science fiction magazine.), Karl Urban — a.k.a. Dr. McCoy — said the following about Benedict Cumberbatch, who plays the film’s heavy: “He’s awesome, he’s a great addition, and I think his Gary Mitchell is going to be exemplary.”

For those not in the know and have not seen the original Star Trek series. Gary Mitchell Played by Gary Lockwood, appeared in the episode “Where No Man Has Gone Before”. Here he is a Starfleet office and close friend of Captain Kirk. He is endowed with god-like powers and turned bad.

IF Mitchell is the villain his relationship with Kirk would make for a great foundation to their inevitable conflict.

  1. It’s hard to base anything concrete off of the rumor mill, but I watched the teaser trailer last weekend and it sure looks like Khan is going to be the villain. It looks like it deals with genetic engineering, which would be right for Khan. Though, since Gary Mitchell also became a “superman,” it could be reinterpreted. I don’t know. We’ll just have to wait and see. 😉

    • That is ture, It could be miss direction, I sure as hell don’t want it to be Khan. Khan has to be the 4th or 5th film in this ‘vrse. They just put the crew together so they still need time to work on working together which is what this film should be about, see as the last one was about how they came together.

As for a teaser trailer I have not seen anything offical, only this very good fan made trailer.
All the footage with Chris Pine is from Star Trek (2009), there is some footage from Alien Res.
These all have filter to make it looks like new footage.

The film still does not have it own web site let alone a title. until it gets one of these, we won’t see a tesser trailer.
