Captain Sisko, Painting

After finishing the Hello Boys painting, I wanted to do another Start Trek one.
This time I have gone for the Captain of my favourite Trek series. (I love the others, but this has a great story arc that runs from roughly season 2 and climax with the Dominion War.)

So here is the outline for Captain Sisko, I have added the picture I am working from in the top right hand Conner. However the picture is low res and so been unable to find a high one.

Updates on this painting will be a bit slow as I also have a commission painting that I am working on. Unfortunately it not paid as I am doing it for my job. It appears I am the artist in the office. LOL!

Taken 2, Film Reivew

The tables have been turned for Bryan Mills (Liam Nesson) in Taken 2.
This time it is Mills who is taken and it is up to his daughter (Maggie Grace) to rescue him.
The film starts just after the events of the first film with the funerals of the Albanian mobsters killed by Bryan Mills. The leader of the gang and father of Marko (whom Bryan had killed by electrocution) vows to capture Bryan, bring him to the graves and avenge their loved ones.

Mill ex-wife (Famke Janssen) is having marital problems and surprises him by joining him in Istanbul, Turkey, where he has just finished a three-day security job.
The next day Mills and his ex-wife head out to have lunch, while their daughter stays at the hotel to enjoy the pool. It is at this moment that Mills and his Ex-wife get taken, Mills is able to warn his daughter who managers to escape.

Once she is safe Mills guide her to where he is being held and help him and his ex-wife to escape.
At this point it Mills turn to turn on the Gangster for Revenge.

Taken 2 is a fun movie and easy to watch though the violence has been toned down from this film so the rating can be dropped from a 15 to a PG-13, which is a great shame as it lose a lot of what made the first film so good.
Luc Besson (Leon) has written far better films in the past, but this is still a fun film to watch and does not require too much thinking.

The first film showed that Liam Neeson can be a good action hero and this film carries that on.

All in all if you have seen the first film then it worth watching, but if you have not then I say don’t watch this until you have seen it as most of the story revolves around the event that happened in that.
I give this film a 2.5 out 5

Kim: Don’t shoot this one. I really like him.

Getaway, Trailer

Getaway is an upcoming American action-thriller film starring Ethan Hawke and Selena Gomez. Directed by Courtney Solomon and written by Gregg Maxwell Parker and Sean Finegan, the film will be distributed by Warner Bros., the last film to have Dark Castle Entertainment by Warner Bros. Pictures, before Universal Pictures took over. Though originally reported to be a remake of the 1972 filmThe Getaway which starred Steve McQueen and Ali MacGraw, the film is actually an original story. It is also not based on The Getaway (video game).

Man of Steel, Trailer

When I first posted up the teaser trailer for Man of Steel, I said I was not very impressed with the way it looked, as it failed to fire me up. Which is what a teaser trailer is meant to do.
Now a fair few trailers have come out, these have now done it there job and got me fired up for this film.

It is has also been rumoured that DC Comics will be using this film as jumping off point to start there own Cinematic Universe. Given the success of the Marvel films, DC have hard act to follow, also seeing for the exception of Noland Dark Knight Trilogy, their main line comic book movies have not done to well.

Man of Steel is out next week.
