Freaking out about Sci-fi & Moives

Mad Max: Fury Road

I love the Mad Max Trilogy.
I was not sure about Tom Hardy replacing Mel Gibson, but Gibson is getting on a bit.
I think that Tom is the best choice as Gibson replacement.

Anyway since this movie we announce we had to wait a long time and then another year just to get the first trailer and here it is.

  1. It’s hard to say why they replaced Mel, but it may not be age. He may not have wanted to do the film, or the producers may have been fearful of Mel’s lack of bankability after some of his public drunken rages. Tom is definitely a good choice, though.

My dad loves these films, so I’m sure he’ll be happy they’re doing another one. I’ve tried Mad Max a couple times, I didn’t care for it. (I know, everybody says try The Road Warrior)

    • The Road Warrior is the best film out of the three.
Gibson was interested in doing a 4th film up to around the early 00’s.

They where planning on start filming the 4th film with Gibson in early 2002. But 9/11 happened and it was deemed that Mad Max would not be a good film to do.
So like many films in preproduction at that time, it was cancelled.

      • Yeah, Mel apparently lost interest sometime after the year 2000, that’s probably why you’re seeing a new Max.

It looks like they’ve had all kinds of difficulties, including financial issues and travel restrictions. They’ve also had issues with filming locations. Plus, there was the Iraq war and the script is considered politically sensitive. I don’t know if they’ve rewritten it (which is likely) or if they figure enough time has passed, or both. Anywho, it looks like it’s really going to happen this time. 😉

I may have to give the earlier films another go, since this has sparked my interest in them. I guess it’s time to try Mad Max for the third or fourth time. The good thing is, I can borrow them from my dad. 🙂

      • Start with Mad Max 2 (Best in the trilogy. ) Then the frist film and the finish with Beyond Thunder Dome.
“Two may enter, one shall leave!” 😉
